Example - Strategy Deployment

These are two Companies of the same group located in North India, one manufacturing garments for export, and the other manufacturing zippers. Bourton India has been working with these Companies over the last two years taking them through a complete transformation. Through a Strategy Deployment exercise, the top leadership worked out their improvement goals for the year and cascaded them down to the lower levels of Management. Value Stream Mapping was done to build a Future State VSM, and Kaizen Events identified which could take them to the Future State. Kaizen Events were run throughout the year to achieve the goals of the Strategy Deployment and the Future State VSM. They have now developed internal Lean Facilitators trained by us, and are able to continue the Lean Journey on their own.

These industries are highly labour-intensive, and also have the problem of high turnover of employees, so Training Within Industry (TWI) methods were used to quickly transfer the skills of highly experienced employees to new ones within days (which usually took months).
