Bourton Group was established in 1963 in the US by professionals from Ingersoll Engineers.
In India, the management of Yuken India Limited (the Indian group company of Yuken Kogyo Co. Ltd., a Japanese manufacturer of oil hydraulics with a global market) introduced Bourton’s Lean methodologies across all their operations. Over a period of five years, many operational improvements yielded significant business benefits, such as a five-fold increase in revenue without any incremental resource investment. This sustained focus by Yuken leadership and workers has brought about a transformation to a true Lean culture at Yuken.
Based on the direct hands-on experience of implementing Lean, Yuken India partnered with the Bourton Group and formed Bourton India, which commenced consulting practice in 2007.
